Dear Colleagues,
I wanted to let you know that again this year, the School of Music at Florida International University will be offering graduate assistantships for our MM program, including the music composition program. If you should have any interested composition students considering an MM for the fall, please have them contact me directly at garciao@fiu.edu They can also visit our web pages at https://carta.fiu.edu/music/music-composition/ and https://carta.fiu.edu/music/apply/ The TA/GA includes tuition waiver and a stipend that covers a 20 hour/week related job within the School of Music for both national and international students. Applications will be reviewed through February however, earlier applications will receive priority. The music composition program at FIU includes courses in music technology and interdisciplinary work in documentary and media writing, as well as courses in collaboration with our dance program. In addition, the FIU orchestra and artist in residence, Amernet string quartet, regularly read student works.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with the slightest question and/or to pass this on to anyone who might be interested.
Thank you so much for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Orlando
