DIVULGATION: Cintas Foundation Fellowships for Composers that are Cuban or of Cuban Descent

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Given my role with the foundation, I want to ask that you please pass on the following link with information regarding the Cintas Foundation Brandon Fradd Fellowships to any composers that may be Cuban and/or of Cuban descent (having a Cuban parent or grandparent counts no matter where they reside).

https://www.cintasfoundation.org/fellowships#music

The fellowship comes with a $25,000 fellowship for project(s) and is primarily awarded based on the artistic merit of the work submitted. In addition, there is no stipulation regarding the style and/or aesthetics of the music being composed and/or where the composer resides. Composers of contemporary classical, jazz works, and other works of all types have received the award. The panels typically include musicians/composers familiar with multiple genres and aesthetics including popular forms.

The only restriction beyond being Cuban or of Cuban lineage is that only graduate students and professionals can apply. Performers are not eligible unless they compose and are submitting/proposing their compositions. This year’s deadline for submissions is May 1.

Please do not hesitate to contact me and/or have anyone interested with questions contact me.

Thank you in advance for your assistance with getting the word out.

All the best,

Orlando
